On July 4, 2015, UNESCO recognized the model of viticulture of the Burgundy terroir as a "World Heritage Site": the "Climats" of the Burgundy vineyards.

The Climats are unique in the world, by their history, their natural heritage, and by the know-how of the winegrowers who have been able to reveal, over the centuries, the unique character of each plot, of each of the more than 1500 Climats.
UNESCO recognises the value of an exceptional wine-growing landscape as well as that of a multifaceted culture and heritage, which comes to life as much in the Clos and the wine-growing villages as in the festive traditions and architecture of the monuments. 
A living heritage, to be protected and passed on for future generations.

An association committed to the protection and transmission of

The Association des Climats du vignoble de Bourgogne is responsible for the preservation and sustainability of the site inscribed on the World Heritage List. It brings together all elected officials and economic and wine-growing players to ensure sustainable management of the site: heritage restoration, raising awareness among young people, support for development, support for scientific research, mobilization of the general public, etc.

A cause to support

Lovers of Great Burgundy wines, lovers of Burgundy... You can make your contribution and work for the maintenance, protection and longevity of this exceptional vineyard. Recognized as being of general interest, the Association des Climats du vignoble is authorized to receive sponsorship to give life to essential programs for: 

• Restore the emblematic heritage of the vineyard (stone walls, cabottes, etc.). 220 km of low walls, guardians of the boundaries of the Climats, are concerned! 
• Preserve and improve our knowledge of cellars, which are treasures of architecture and history (3D scanner, research program with the University of Burgundy) 
• To initiate new educational programmes in schools each year, around the values of World Heritage and the discovery of Climats (geology, biodiversity, heritage, landscape, vine cycle, etc.).
